Web Standards
A world class university of technology should have a world class website: one that presents the university as consistent, professional, and reliable. Accordingly, a number of standards have been established to govern the way Curtin's online material should be created and presented.
Some aspects of standardisation have been made mandatory, especially in cases where non-compliance puts Curtin at risk.
Find out more about the policies that affect web publishing at Curtin.
Non-compliance with mandatory standards will mean that your site cannot be published from the Corporate Web Environment.
Examples of things you may have to take into account include:
- Ensuring that your page layout conforms with the design of the Curtin web template (as provided by the Web Template Generator)
- Including appropriate footer content, such as content details, as provided for in the web template
- Ensuring that your content follows Curtin's Accessibility Guidelines
- Adding metadata elements in line with the recommendations of the CurtinLink Metadata Working Party [pdf]
